Mars Area Middle School’s FOR (Friends of Rachel) Club and Service Committee will sponsor several activities to benefit the American Heart Association as follows:
- Tuesday thru Thursday, Feb. 12-14 — For a minimum donation of $1, students may have their photo taken in front of a Valentine’s Photo Backdrop or they may purchase a coupon for a piece of duct tape that will be used to attach two teachers to a wall during the school’s lunch periods on Friday, Feb. 15 (see below). Students will also have an opportunity to make a donation during homeroom. Those who donate $10 or more will receive an American Heart Association t-shirt.
- Wednesday, Feb. 13 — Students will hang paper hearts, decorated with messages thanking the school’s food service workers, in the cafeteria.
- Thursday, Feb. 14 — All students are asked to wear the color red.
- Thursday & Friday, Feb. 14-15 — Students will participate in special games during their physical education classes
- Friday, Feb. 15 — During all lunch periods, students will use duct tape to attach teachers Amanda Stavish and Christine Tumulty to a wall.
