Members of Girl Scout Troop 28842 (Mars) have been working to spruce up Middlesex Township Volunteer Fire Department as part of a community service project.
The troop wanted to do a project to benefit the fire department, which was seeking some picnic tables to go with a recently purchase grill. The troop took the project a step further, providing two custom-painted picnic tables (with umbrellas), along with custom-painted cornhole boards and a Yardzee yard dice set.
Troop members, including Mars Area Middle School eighth-graders Lauren Chadwick, Arora Montgomery, Addison Pangonis, Anya Peck, Rachel Snyder, Makenna Steiner, Kiara Van Wyk and Grace Wilson, also painted a mural in the fire station and planted flowers around the department’s sign along Browns Hill Road.
