Mars Area School District is aware of false rumors circulating about an accident involving a school bus along Doc's Way behind Mars Area Elementary School on April 23. 

A parent backing up her vehicle hit the front end of a stopped school bus that was waiting to pick up students at Mars Area Elementary School. As per District procedure, 9-1-1 was called and emergency personnel checked all students on the school bus before they were transferred to another bus to continue their transportation home. The District directly contacted all parents of those students who were on the bus at the time of the incident.

Please note that, despite the false rumors being circulated, the District has verified that the bus driver's license is, in fact, valid and is not expired or suspended. The bus driver was neither arrested nor under suspicion at any time and was on the scene to assist police and District personnel. Thank you.
