Mars Area Middle School’s entry in the 2020 Pittsburgh Central “What’s So Cool About Manufacturing” Student Video Contest earned first place in the Best Manufacturing Message category.
The video, submitted by eighth-graders Teo Biaggini, Charlie Bickel, Cooper Courson, Nicholas Ferrari, Addison Girdwood, Annelie Gustafsson, Kylie Lavelle, Katelyn McKee and Mira Ramanathan, highlighted Schroeder Industries (Leetsdale, Pa.), which design, manufactures and markets Advanced Fluid Conditioning Solutions® for hydraulic systems.
The team will advance to the state “What’s So Cool About Manufacturing? Best of PA 2020” Video Contest. A panel of judges will select the Top 3 videos at an awards ceremony to be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29, at The Forum Auditorium (Harrisburg, Pa.).
The purpose of the annual contest is to reinforce STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Mathematics) education and to give students an inside look at the various career opportunities available in manufacturing.
