Mars Area Middle School eighth-graders Reagan Connelly and William Wilson were selected to receive The American Legion Award for the 2020-2021 School Year.

The award is presented to eighth-graders who exhibit the highest standards of scholarship, leadership, patriotism, service, courage, honor and integrity. Each school year, teachers nominate students for the recognition; and, all eighth-graders are asked to vote for one boy and one girl from the list of nominees.

Other nominees included eighth-graders Camille Bird​, Roman Brunsell​, McKenna Chileski​, Reese Felicetti​, Ryan Galbraith​, Carson Mahan​, Addison Nailler,​ Derek Piatek​, Susanna Tomkovicz​ and Maxwell Zagorski​.
