MAMS Student Council Elections

Mars Area Middle School Student Council will hold a Student Information Meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 13, during homeroom in the Commons.

Students, who are interested in running for a student council class representative position are encouraged to attend. Applications and more information will be distributed at the meeting. If you are interested and cannot attend, please see Mrs. Winter or Mrs. Stavish to receive an application.

2023-2024 School Year Elected Positions:

  • Eighth Grade Class Representative - 10 available positions
  • Seventh Grade Class Representative - 10 available positions

All interested candidates must complete a Student Council Representative Application/Petition.  Completed application/petition forms are due by 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 19, to Mrs. Winter.  No exceptions!

All qualified candidate nomination essays will be distributed to the student body to decide what candidates they would like to vote for.

Voting for Seventh and Eighth Grade Student Council, class representatives, elections will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 26, and Wednesday, Sept. 27. ALL STUDENTS will vote for their respective grade level representatives.

PLEASE NOTE THE CHANGE FROM PREVIOUS YEARS - There will no longer be Homeroom Representatives at the Middle School. We are moving to a student council format, rather than a student government. Elected student council members will represent their peers in their grade. This student council format mirrors that of the student class council at the high school. Elected student council representatives will vote on the school President and Vice President from within the elected student council representatives.
