Eighth Grade Recognition Ceremony & Practice Information

All Eighth Grade students will have a recognition ceremony practice from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, and Wednesday, May 29, at the Mars Area High School auditorium.

At dismissal time, students will board their school buses at the high school. Any students, who are to be  picked up by a parent/guardian on those days, will be dismissed from the Mars Area High School auditorium entrance at 2:30 p.m.

The Eighth Grade Recognition Ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29, at Mars Area High School auditorium. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Students need to arrive by no later than 5:45 p.m. 

After the ceremony, students will go to  Mars Area Middle School for the dance. A shuttle bus will be provided to transport students from the recognition ceremony to the middle school.

Students are not required to ride the shuttle bus. However, if students are not using the shuttle bus, parents will need to drop off students at the front entrance of the middle school for the dance. No student is permitted to walk from the High School to the Middle School

Student Council will provide refreshments and light snacks at the dance. There is no admission fee. Students must be picked up promptly at 9:30 p.m.
