Effective immediately, the new gate traffic on the Mars Area Middle School campus will be closed from 8 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. and from 3 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. daily.

In addition the gate will be permanently closed during the summer. All vehicles will need to access the building via the school’s main entrance located along Davidson Road.

In an effort to decrease cut-through traffic and to enhance traffic safety, Mars Area School District installed the gate in the Mars Area Middle School access road at the southern end of the building, near Route 228 (see below).  Within the next year, direct access to the school via Three Degree Road will be eliminated as part of the Route 228/Three Degree Road Intersection Project. Therefore, the District opened the new driveway to provide access to the school’s campus as well as to Mars Athletic Complex to help prepare parents/guardians for the upcoming permanent change to the school’s traffic patterns.
