This morning (Wednesday, Oct. 11), Middlesex Township Police alerted Mars Area Middle School that a hand-written note, containing threats of harm to specific students, was found near a student’s school bus stop.
Mars Area School District administrators, working in cooperation with Middlesex Township and Adams Township police departments, are continuing to investigate this incident. The individual, who is responsible for writing the note, has been identified and is facing disciplinary action in accordance with District policy and will be referred to local law enforcement.
Please note that, at this time, there is no imminent threat to the health and safety of the student body and/or staff members at Mars Area Middle School or at any other District buildings.
District administrators are in the process of contacting the parents/guardians of those students, whose names were included in the note. These parents/guardians will be updated, accordingly, regarding the status of the investigation.
