Mars Area Middle School students are designing, building and programming robots as part of a cross-curricular project in their Technology Education and Programming classes.
Using Vex IQ robotics kits, the students are creating robots that could be capable of cleaning up “recyclable materials” and/or “hazardous waste’ in a coral reef, says Erin Bridge, programming teacher. The students will then use VexCode to program their robots to accomplish the task in a 6-by-8-foot arena, that will simulate a coral reef.
