Several Mars Area chorus members were selected by solo audition to perform in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) Junior High District 5 Chorus Festival, to be held on Friday, Jan. 19, at Beaver Area High School (Beaver, Pa.).

Freshmen Mia Ola and Jon Williams will perform with the Ninth Grade Choir, conducted by Erich Lascek, Gateway High School music teacher. Eighth-graders Bailey Ignosh, Madalyn Kinghorn, John Kiewall, Allison Lemasters, Olivia Love, Gillian Porter and Olivia Rihs; and seventh-grader Ava Lockette will perform with the Seventh/Eighth Grade Choir, conducted by Beth Damesimo, Beaver Area School District elementary music teacher.

The event will conclude with a public concert at 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 19, at Beaver Area High School. Tickets are $3 and may be purchased at the door.
