Students raised $7,556 to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure, through Mars Area School District’s annual “Hats for Heroes” fund-raiser.

Students in Grades K-8 were asked to make a donation to the cause in return for the opportunity to wear a hat in school. Students at Mars Area Middle School donated $2,772.16; Mars Area Centennial School, $1,529.84; Mars Area Elementary School, $2,345; and Mars Area Primary Center, $909.
