Members of Mars Area Middle School’s MathCounts Team participated in the 2020 MathCounts Midwestern Pennsylvania Chapter Regional Competition, held Feb. 8 at A.W. Beattie Career Center.

In individual competition, eighth-graders Teo Biaggini took first place; eighth-grader Adam Rohrbaugh, second place; eighth-grader Cooper Courson, third place; seventh-grader Derek Piatek, fourth place; seventh-grader Carson Mahan, fifth place; Vivek Dadi, sixth place; and seventh-grader Jaya Kaleida, seventh place.

The team earned first overall and will advance to the Pennsylvania MathCounts 2020 competition to be held March 13-14 in Harrisburg, Pa.
