Several members of Mars Area Middle School MathCounts Team will advance to the 2026 Pennsylvania MathCounts State Competition, to be held March 20-21 in Harrisburg, Pa.

The team of eighth-graders Jacqueline Li, Nihit Mittal and Siddartha Senthilkumar and seventh-graders Hannah Nam qualified for states at the 2026 MathCounts Midwestern Chapter regional competition, held Feb. 17. Additional state qualifiers include seventh-grader Kristin Sadhu, who placed fifth overall in individual competition.

Also of note, eighth-grader Jacqueline Li earned first place overall and seventh-grader Hannah Nam took second place overall. Other participants included eighth-graders Clair Armburger and Madeleine Garraux.
