Mars Area Middle School Hockey Team defeated the Beaver Area Bobcats 5-4 in the final game of the PIHL (Pennsylvania Interscholastic Hockey League) 14U D Tournament on March 23, earning the championship title.

The Fightin’ Planets ambushed the Avonworth Antelopes 5-1 in the PIHL Semifinals on March 16; and triumphed over the Wheeling Park Patriots 5-2 in the PIHL Quarterfinals on March 13. 

Team members include eighth-graders Bradley Biggs, Andrew Hasenkopf, Carson Myers, Carson Whitling, Levi Rosswog and Carson Whitling; seventh-graders Michael Bowser, Harry Chirdon, Greyson Dematteis, Chase Doner, Hayden Letherby, Nick Lancy, Joseph Maker, Teagan Martin, Alex Read, Connor Vaccaro and James Walther; and, sixth-graders Beckett Mayes and Taggart Sanderson.
