Mars Area Middle School eighth-graders Kaiden Boyd and Ally Franck were selected to receive The Rising Star Award for the 2025-2026 School Year. 

The award is presented to eighth-graders who consistently demonstrate strong character and potential for future success. Candidates must embody integrity and honor in their actions; show leadership by setting a positive example; and remain committed to academic excellence.

Each school year, teachers nominate students for the recognition; and, all eighth-graders are asked to vote for one boy and one girl from the list of nominees. Other nominees included eighth-graders Hunter Hein, Everly Henderson, Emma Johnston, Cole Liparulo, Madison Mallory, Troy Murray, Declan Powell, Lydia Sokolak and Serena Vowell.
