Mars Area students raised $10,437.66 to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure, through the schools’ annual “Hats for Heroes” fundraiser on Oct. 20.

Students at Mars Area Middle School donated $2,739.18; Mars Area Centennial School, $1,834.38; Mars Area Elementary School, $3,835; and Mars Area Primary Center, $2,029.10. 

The fund-raiser asked students to make a donation to the cause in return for the opportunity to wear a hat in school on Oct. 20. Mars Area School District is a Silver Level Sponsor of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.
