Members of Mars Area Middle School’s MathCounts Team participated in the 2018 MathCounts Midwestern Pennsylvania Chapter Regional Competition, held Feb. 3 at Grove City College.

The team of eighth-graders Timothy Jayamohan, Anuj Kaul, Audrey Milk and Luke Weiland earned second place overall.

In individual competition, Weiland took first place and will advance to the 2018 Pennsylvania MathCounts Competition in March. Eighth-grader Raghav Kalbhor earned seventh place at the regional event.

Other participants were eighth-graders Charles Biaku, Ava Black, Christopher Dvorak, Audrey Gehm, Nicholas Kaleida, Lauren Miko and Rohan Narasimhan.
